Each project on the Projects page carries a status label. Here is what each one means.

Needs Collaborator

The project needs a practitioner with relevant domain expertise to help guide it. If you work in a field this project touches and are interested in collaborating, get in touch.

Active

Under active development. New features are being added and issues are being addressed regularly.

In Development

The project is being built but is not yet ready for general use.

Alpha

Functional but early-stage. Expect rough edges and the possibility of breaking changes.

Prototype

A working proof of concept exists, but significant work remains before it is ready for general use.

In Use

Stable and being used in the field. Development continues on an as-needed basis.

Dormant

Development has paused indefinitely, but the project is not abandoned. It may become active again if a collaborator shows up with a compelling use case and fresh ideas.
